Monitor and control pumps, boreholes and reservoirs.
Check your water system from your phone. Smarta connects to your equipment and can run pumps automatically using level, pressure or schedule rules.

A Smarta controller connects the equipment on site to the web and mobile apps. What you can measure and control depends on the sensors and pump panel at your site.
- Monitor
- Pump status, water levels, flow, pressure and electrical readings, with graphs and operating history.
- Control
- Level, pressure and schedule rules can operate pumps automatically. Authorised users can also start or stop compatible pumps remotely.
- Respond
- Receive alarms, review what happened and download reports for operations and maintenance.

Managing water since 2015.
We are based in Gauteng and work with customers, distributors and installation partners across Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Adding Smarta to your system
We assess the pumps, sensors, control panel and connectivity, then specify the installation. Once commissioned, the team helps with alarm settings, reports and changes.
Smarta can be fitted to new systems and many existing pump panels.
Technical resourcesCommon questions.
Groundwater recovery, pumping costs and everyday decisions on site. Tell us about your water system.
Can we see whether a borehole is recovering?
Yes. With a water-level sensor fitted, Smarta shows how groundwater levels change while the pump runs and after it stops. Compare that recovery with flow and pumping history to help plan run and rest periods, and spot changes over time.
Which borehole costs the least to fill our reservoir?
The useful comparison is electricity cost per kilolitre of water delivered. Smarta brings together measured energy, water volume and your electricity tariff to compare sources. We use those measurements to configure the lowest-cost suitable boreholes to run first, taking groundwater levels, available yield and reservoir demand into account. See the estate case study.
Can our reservoir control when the pumps run?
Yes. A reservoir’s level can trigger compatible pumps to start when storage is low and stop at an upper level. Pumping schedules and borehole low-water stop rules can be configured alongside reservoir control, so the setup considers both the water in storage and the level at the source.
What happens if a pump trips or the water gets too low?
Smarta can alert your team to pump trips, low or high water levels, high pressure, sensor faults and a site that stops reporting. Notifications can be configured for the app, email or Telegram. Your team can then check the site’s readings and alarm history, and use authorised remote controls where fitted.
Can we spot a pump that is becoming less efficient?
With flow and electrical monitoring fitted, you can compare water delivered, energy used and running time over similar periods. If a pump needs more electricity to deliver the same volume, or runs longer while flow falls, the trend helps your maintenance team decide what to investigate. Graphs, history and reports keep that evidence available.
Do we need to replace our existing pumps?
Often, no. Smarta can be added to compatible existing pump panels, with sensors for the measurements you need. We assess the pumps, controls, power and connectivity before recommending the installation. A photo of your pump panel and a short description of the boreholes and reservoirs is a useful starting point. Request a site assessment.
